Safety Notes: Ensure the oven is preheated to the correct temperature to avoid undercooking. Use oven mitts when handling the hot pan.
Substitutions: Use sunflower seed butter for nut-free, gluten-free oats for a gluten-free option, and dairy-free chocolate chips for vegan adaptation.
Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
Pro Tips: Press the mixture down very firmly to prevent crumbling. For a firmer texture, chill the bars in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before cutting. Use dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa for optimal flavor and health benefits.
